A fresh start for carers
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the new Respitality website. Respitality is coordinated by the national carer’s organisation Shared Care Scotland. This project reflects the core mission of Respitality: connecting unpaid carers with short, well-earned breaks donated by the hospitality sector.
The previous site had become outdated and struggled to meet the increasing demands of carers, businesses, and delivery partners. Shared Care Scotland needed a robust platform that was not only visually engaging but also intuitive to use for all audiences.
Built using Umbraco CMS, key project highlights included:

Advanced search tools and improved reservation management make matching carers to breaks easier and more efficient. - Enhanced usability and design
The new platform is visually appealing and intuitive, providing a seamless experience for carers and partners alike. - Automated notifications and advanced reporting
Leveraging the UI Builder module in Umbraco Cloud, we created a powerful reporting system to handle external data with precision.
By simplifying the process for delivery partners and creating a more user-friendly experience for carers, the Respitality website is now better equipped to grow alongside the initiative’s ambitions.
The launch of this website marks another step forward in supporting carers across Scotland and fostering stronger partnerships between Shared Care Scotland and the hospitality sector.
